Doreen Mugure is a finance and operations professional who enjoys working in mission driven organizations. She has a strong belief that proper financial management is key to the successful fulfilment of an organization’s mission. Doreen has over 15 years of professional experience in the Finance and Accounting field, with 10+ of those years spent in the nonprofit sector where she has successfully taken responsibility for the financial and operational management of several organizations. Before joining IDG, Doreen worked as Director of Finance and Operations for Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda; a newly established position that successfully helped steward the organization into a more efficient and effective operation.
Doreen holds a BS in Accounting with a Minor in Business Management and an Impact M.B.A from Colorado State University. Through her training and work in the Impact MBA program, she developed a passion for Social and Sustainable Enterprises that focus on successful outcomes of not just the economic bottom line, but a positive difference in the community and environment as a whole.
In addition to working in the United States, Doreen has also lived and worked in Kenya and Zambia. In her free time, Doreen enjoys travelling and exploring other cultures, while also spending time with her large, extended, but close-knit family.
