The South Asia Clean Energy Forum (SACEF) 2024 built upon the success of its inaugural event held in New Delhi in May 2023. Organized by the South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), SACEF 2024 took place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India from October 21-24, 2024. The forum served as a platform for government officials, energy experts, and business leaders to engage in discussions and identify solutions for a clean energy future in South Asia.
SACEF 2023, themed “Catalyzing Partnership for Clean Energy Transition,” brought together participants and experts from across the globe to address crucial topics such as green hydrogen, e-mobility advancements, and cross-border energy trade. SACEF 2024 continued to foster collaboration and drive progress towards a clean energy future for South Asia, bringing over hundreds of participants and notable speakers to attend multiple sessions across 3 days. This forum focused on the theme of “Engage. Act. Solve” and featured topics such as: regional energy markets and integration, advanced energy solutions and systems, high-performing modern utilities, and transparent, best value procurement and private sector investment.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) India Advancing the U.S.-India Partnership Platform (APP) Activity, implemented by IDG, supported in organizing and managing the event.
Why SACEF?
South Asia faces significant energy challenges, including limited energy access, reliance on fossil fuels, and inefficient power systems. The region also has enormous potential for clean energy development, which can drive economic growth, reduce pollution, and improve public health. SACEF provides a vital platform for stakeholders to collaborate on solutions to these challenges and unlock the region’s clean energy potential.
