Gender Equality and Female Empowerment
Communities thrive and sustainable development is achieved when women and girls are provided with equal opportunities to men to rise to their potential. Women and men approach the improvement of the economic, social and physical well-being of their families, businesses and communities in different ways. IDG is dedicated to implementing projects with this understanding, identifying how and when gender-based differences may influence the impact of a project. In order to ensure the improvement of livelihoods, education and leadership opportunities for women and girls, IDG utilizes tools and strategies to reduce gender gaps that impede development, support all program stakeholders including staff, clients and partner institutions, and develop frameworks that measure and ensure women’s participation, priorities, and needs. IDG’s gender practice aims to unlock human potential on a transformational scale by improving gender equity and equality in each one of our programs in all locations.
